Tangshan City Exhibition Hall

Adjacent to Dachengshan Park to the east and facing Fenghuangshan Park to the southwest, the Tangshan City Exhibition Hall was completed in 2008. From the perspective of urban planning, the exhibition hall comprehensively reflects the history of Tangshan’s urban planning and construction, highlighting the tremendous changes in the city’s development, especially after the earthquake and in recent years, and looks forward to a promising future in urban planning and development. The exhibition hall covers a total land area of 29,636 square meters, with a total floor space of 5,650.17 square meters. It consists of five exhibition halls: Hall A (Key Projects Hall), Hall B (Main Exhibition Hall), Hall C (Four Functional Zones Hall), Hall D (Four Points and One Belt Hall), and Hall E (Counties and Cities Hall).

The Tangshan City Exhibition Hall was reconstructed on the site of four Japanese-built munitions depots from the pre-liberation era that withstood the major earthquake, along with two old grain storage buildings constructed in the 1980s. The exhibition hall is a prime example of the preservation and renovation of historic structures.

Along the park side, each warehouse has been enhanced with a steel-framed porch, giving the previously enclosed warehouses an open feel. These porches are set above reflecting pools, further amplifying the beauty of the original architecture. The “A-frame” roof of the warehouses has been replaced with an “X-shaped” steel structure, creating clerestory windows that transform the once-closed interiors into perfect and standard exhibition spaces.

Through a series of layered garden and courtyard spaces, strolling through the complex becomes a truly pleasant experience. In a city where everything may seem rather ordinary, visitors can inadvertently discover fragments of history worth cherishing here, and in doing so, regain confidence in their own city.

Hall A: Exhibition content includes the urban water system, green space system, green-beautiful-bright-clean initiatives, and urban design.

Hall B: Exhibition content includes Shining Footprints, Dream Beginnings, Indomitable Spirit, Years of Endeavor, and a Beautiful Tomorrow.

Hall C: Exhibition content includes Phoenix New Town, Nanhu Eco-City, Caofeidian International Eco-City, and Airport City.

Hall D: Exhibition content covers Leting New Area, Caofeidian New Area (Caofeidian Industrial Zone, Tanghai County, Nanpu Economic Development Zone), Fengnan Coastal Industrial Zone, and Luhang Economic and Technological Development Zone.

Hall E: Exhibition content involves Zunhua City, Yutian County, Luan County, Qianxi County, Luannan County, and Qian’an City.
