Qian'an Yaluan Bay Agricultural Park

Qian'an Yaluan Bay Agricultural Park is situated on Guangming Road, Yangdianzi Town, Qian'an City. The project began in March 2014. It is intended to be implemented in three phases. In 2014, as the early stage of park development, the annual total investment was 50 million yuan, used for park planning, land transfer, and the construction of infrastructure including electricity, water conservancy, roads, office areas, as well as the introduction and planting of peach trees, and the development of projects such as sunlight greenhouses and cold sheds.

By the end of March 2014, the park concentratedly transferred 1,000 acres of land from Zhangguanying Village and Shangwu Village at prices slightly higher than market rates. This provided basic economic income for farmers in surrounding villages and employed over 100 available local laborers to work within the park, enabling them to earn additional income through labor. This contributed to social stability in Qian'an during a period of sharp economic decline and widespread layoffs by enterprises.

In April 2014, Yaluan Bay actively constructed and upgraded infrastructure such as electricity, water conservancy, roads, and office areas. It introduced a full-farm drip irrigation system, excavated roads for fruit and vegetable picking and leisure sightseeing, and laid a solid foundation for major future construction projects.

On May 12, 2014, the park planted its first symbolic peach tree. Since then, over 500 acres of peach trees have been planted. Led by more than 20 professional technicians, the cultivation, pest control, and growth of the peach trees were managed one-on-one throughout the year to ensure survival rates and prepare for fruit yield.

From July to September 2014, under the leadership of the park’s chairman and general manager, through study and inspection, three sunlight greenhouses and one ten-arch cold shed were introduced. These were used to cultivate various rare and special vegetables, strawberries, mid-to-late ripening grapes, and peach trees, as well as to research new fruit and vegetable varieties for citizens to pick and sightsee.

In October 2014, Yaluan Bay expanded the original natural lake to create the 30-plus-acre Huaying Lake, which includes separate areas for adults and children, with a maximum depth of 8 meters. Thousands of pounds of wild fish were released for fishing activities. On the western side of the children's area, an artificial hill named “Peach Blossom Fairyland” was built. The hill features automated water circulation powered by electricity and water facilities, creating small cascading waterfalls.

By the end of the year, Yaluan Bay completed the planning of four major functional zones: entrance scientific research exhibition, citizen farm participation, outdoor leisure and entertainment, and large-scale planting.

In 2015, Yaluan Bay focused on developing its second phase of projects centered around "peach culture." It also introduced pesticide-free crops, fruits and vegetables, greenhouse picking, family farms, fishing, dining, photography, sightseeing, water parks, horseback riding, and various events (including tree planting and life experience activities) for leisure and entertainment. Integrating "eating," "drinking," "staying," and "playing," the park primarily targets short-distance consumers from Qian'an City and the Beijing-Tianjin area, aiming at the mid-to-high-end market. Its main revenue streams include tourism admission tickets, green catering, eco-sightseeing, cultural experiences, leisure entertainment, and agricultural product sales.

In March 2015, guided by the principle of "allowing consumers to eat green, pesticide-free fruits and vegetables and experience the joy of returning to and working with nature," Yaluan Bay began constructing a Happy Farm project. Covering over 10 acres, the project consists of 121 plots, each approximately 40 square meters. Protected by anti-insect nets as a natural barrier, the plots use bamboo poles for matrix-style construction. Organic fertilizer—mainly sheep manure—is used for soil improvement. The farm is equipped with drip and micro-spray irrigation systems, with one-on-one guidance from professional technicians. Management options include fully managed, semi-managed, or self-cultivated. Yaluan Bay also provides free seeds and farming tools to farm owners, along with features like loofah pergolas, field music spots, and hand-washing stations to create a green, pesticide-free farming environment. You can plant as you wish and make the farm your own fruit and vegetable garden.

From April to May 2015, Yaluan Bay began laying out a grape-picking corridor, planned to stretch 5,000 meters in total. An application will be made later to set a Guinness World Record for the longest grape-picking corridor. By June 2015, 1,000 meters had been completed. Following the natural winding terrain and using steel pipe materials for the corridor, the full view resembles a giant dragon in coils. Grape seedlings gently wave along the sides while gourds hang crisscrossed overhead. The bountiful fruits are waiting for you to pick. When autumn comes next year, clusters of grapes will be ready for harvest!

In May 2015, the Yaluan Bay Equestrian Club officially opened. Covering 10 acres, the club features a dedicated horse track about 1,500 meters long, with eight strong and tall horses available for riding. There are also Mongolian yurts for resting. Professional riding instructors and horse guides are available daily to arrange equestrian activities based on visitors’ skill levels.

In June 2015, after inspecting first-tier developed cities like Beijing and Shanghai, Yaluan Bay introduced Qian'an’s first real-life version of the “Brave Challenge”—a water park. In 2015, the record-breaking contest winner—an iPhone 6 Plus—went to Yu Zhiwei, a college student from Xinzhai Village, Qian'an City. The grand prize—a collection of premium red wine and Xifeng liquor worth 10,000 yuan—was awarded to Meng Lingxuan, a high school student from Zhangguanying Village. From May to September 2015, Yaluan Bay hosted three bonfire parties. The first: a thousand-person customer appreciation event for Perfect Group; the second: an internal networking party for Xifeng Liquor Group; the third: a youth entrepreneurs' association Bonfire & Brave Challenge networking party. With music and dancing, evening breeze, and willows swaying nearby, everyone gathered joyfully around the burning bonfire, feasting on whole roasted lamb and fine wine—truly a delight in life.

Two outdoor weddings were also held: with green mountains, white clouds, and shimmering lake waters, the two couples began their happy journeys aboard a cruise.

Starting in August 2015, Yaluan Bay began constructing a Farming Culture Restaurant, planned to cover 5 acres. With a farming culture theme, the restaurant entrance features a sunlight greenhouse showcasing a farming culture exhibition area. Traditional farming tools and the process of making agricultural products are displayed here, along with interactive areas like a parent-child zone for hands-on farming experiences. The area offers the chance to create agricultural products together, enjoying the simplicity and fun of DIY. The interior also includes artificial hills, exotic rocks, streams, and misty landscapes to create a fresh and tranquil dining environment. Additionally, the restaurant has multiple functional areas for banquets, weddings, Western and Chinese cuisine. The wedding and birthday banquet areas can accommodate over 50 tables.

In 2016, Yaluan Bay began introducing Taiwan’s hydroponic projects and started the construction of the Peach Blossom Array scenic spot and the Dutch-style Garden. The Peach Blossom Array symbolizes the end of a love journey. Designed with inspiration from the Bagua (Eight Trigrams) formation, the path is paved with crushed stones in a Bagua pattern, with layered peach trees planted in the center. The oldest tree, located in the very middle, symbolizes the Peach Fairy, praying for beautiful love.

Dutch-style Garden: Centered around a Dutch windmill, the garden plants various colorful flowers matching the number of fan blades around the windmill. These are managed collectively to form another picturesque windmill landscape.

Yaluan Bay is part of Qian'an's western industrial zone windbreak and sand-fixation project. It provides the city with a natural green oxygen bar and serves as an important node in building Qian'an’s green ecological corridor. It contributes significantly to establishing Qian'an as the city’s backyard garden, a demonstration area for Tangshan’s distinctive peach culture urban agriculture, and to creating the Pearl of Eastern Hebei, the charming city of Qian'an, and a water-themed city.
