Luan County Chestnut Fragrance Garden

The Luan County Chestnut Fragrance Garden in Hebei Province is situated in the southeastern part of Luan County. It spans from Luanhe Road in the north to Tuanjie Road in the south, from Luanxin Street in the west to Pingda Road in the east, forming a trapezoidal shape. The planned land area is 138 mu. Construction started in 2004, and the garden was built with an investment of 5 million yuan. This park primarily serves as a sightseeing destination, while also combining scientific research, scientific production, and science education in one integrated space. The design ingeniously utilizes the original undulating and varied terrain, preserving native tree species such as chestnut, walnut, and acacia. Over 200 varieties of trees, shrubs, flowers, and grasses suitable for the local climate have been thoughtfully arranged, creating a lush and diverse plant community that forms a tranquil and natural landscape. The entire garden is predominantly green and is divided into fifteen scenic areas, including the Pine and Cypress Garden, Shrub Garden, Flower Dock, Cherry Blossom Garden, Lotus Pond, Willow Embankment, Orchard, Arbor Garden, Crape Myrtle Grove, and Peony Garden. It also features a morning exercise area. On the lawn in the eastern part of the garden, there is a sculpture titled “Yi and Qi Yielding Their Positions,” created in the traditional Chinese art form of paper-cutting. It depicts the historical story of Bo Yi and Shu Qi yielding their positions to more worthy individuals, reflecting the honest, trustworthy, courteous, and yielding virtues of the people of Luan County.
