Zhanghe National Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a national water conservancy scenic area.

The Zhanghe Scenic Area is located in the central part of Hubei Province, at the junction of Jingmen, Yichang, and Xiangfan cities. Backed by the Jing Mountains and facing the Jianghan Plain, it covers a total area of 400 square kilometers. It features primarily natural landscapes, supplemented by cultural attractions, especially large-scale hydraulic engineering complexes, making it suitable for sightseeing, leisure, vacation, and recuperation. The planned Zhanghe Reservoir Amusement Park, to be built around the reservoir waters, is a multi-level amusement park featuring underwater, surface, shoreline, and low-altitude recreational activities.

The natural landscapes within the Zhanghe Scenic Area can be divided into two main categories: landscape scenery and rock formations, with the landscape scenery being particularly distinctive. The reservoir spans 104 square kilometers, with a water storage capacity of 2.035 billion cubic meters, a maximum depth of 61 meters, 36 islands, 164 peninsulas, and 240 branching waterways. The shoreline along the mountain valleys extends approximately 800 kilometers, presenting picturesque scenery with clear waters and lush mountains.

The beauty of Zhanghe lies in its water. It is clear—crystal-clear and mirror-like. Looking down into the water, one can clearly see the fish swimming beneath, the weeping willows on the shore, the birds flying overhead, and the clouds reflected from below. It is gentle—the soft ripples are tender and boneless. Being in the water offers a cool escape from summer heat, washing away all worries. Gently touching the water and singing brings out a tender charm, offering a unique kind of allure. It is pure—the water quality is clean, the taste is fresh, and savoring it reveals a taste that is endless, uplifting, and leaves a lasting impression.
