In recent years, new attractions in Chiayi have sprung up like mushrooms, gradually becoming a popular tourist destination and shaking off its former reputation as the most boring county. 1. Hinoki Forest Village
Covering an area of approximately 3.4 hectares, Hinoki Forest Village preserves traditional Japanese-style architecture. Stepping into this village feels like traveling back to a bygone era of historical charm. The site revitalizes former Japanese staff dormitories and official residences through traditional Japanese construction methods, transforming them into a new hub for forestry culture, art, and entertainment.

2. Dongshi Fishing Harbor
Dongshi Fishing Harbor is designed around elements such as “wind,” “sunlight,” “fish,” “boats,” “the ocean,” and “lighthouses,” showcasing a multifaceted maritime experience. Key facilities include a marine culture museum, specialty shops, a shopping street, a seaside viewing pavilion, a floating bridge market, and a coastal walking platform. Combining the functions of the original fishing port, visitors can enjoy summer beach music events, beach volleyball, and refreshing water activities during the peak season.

3. North Gate Station
North Gate Station is the starting point of the Alishan Forest Railway’s steam train and also a freight hub for the Alishan Railway. Daily necessities along the Alishan line were transported here to be sent up the mountain, giving it a significant and unique historical charm.

4. KANOPark Area
Besides the new photo attraction, the giant KANO baseball sculpture, KANO Baseball Park also features a baseball-themed boulevard, a baseball celebrity wall, an outdoor grassy music theater, a baseball sculpture area, a baseball mural treasure hunt zone, and a vendor area. Inside the stadium, part of the space has been redesigned into a multimedia baseball history museum, along with a baseball-themed shop and a café offering light meals.
