Beauty and the Beast in Real Life – Tokyo’s Most Romantic Christmas Light Show

Every year as Christmas approaches, many Christmas-related events in Japan begin to kick off one after another, and the ever-popular Shiodome Caretta Christmas Light Show recently announced its illumination schedule. This year, in addition to featuring the signature blue ocean of lights, it has also incorporated elements from Disney’s classic animated film “Beauty and the Beast,” adding a romantic fairy-tale atmosphere to the Christmas season.

This year, Shiodome Caretta takes “Caretta Illumination 2017 ~The True Love Story~” as its theme, incorporating fairy-tale elements from “Beauty and the Beast.” In addition to the usual dreamy blue lights, it also introduces the yellow light tower representing Princess Belle. The entire venue will be transformed into the movie’s grand ballroom, complete with the iconic red rose, rose-covered walls, and lavish costumes from the film.
