Jingchu University of Technology is a provincial full-time regular higher education institution approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2007. It was formed through the merger of Jingmen Vocational and Technical College and Shayang Teachers College, boasting over 30 years of history in higher education.

The university is situated at the foot of Bailong Mountain in the downtown area of Jingmen City, Hubei Province, nestled against mountains and beside water, featuring beautiful scenery and profound cultural and historical heritage. It is a garden-style university blending landscape and academia. The campus covers an area of over 2,200 acres, with a total floor space of more than 300,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research equipment amounts to 74.51 million yuan, and the campus network covers all teaching, research, office areas, and student dormitories. The library houses 1.1293 million volumes of printed books, utilizes an automated management system (ILAS III), and provides access to over 10 electronic resource databases.

The university comprises 14 teaching colleges (departments), as well as a College of Vocational and Adult Education and an International Education College. It offers 37 undergraduate programs and 13 junior college programs, spanning eight major academic disciplines: science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, literature, education, management, and art. There are 111 off-campus internship and training bases, one affiliated hospital, and two teaching hospitals. The university has a total of over 12,400 full-time regular students, including more than 9,600 undergraduates.
