Pian Guan Temple Mountain is a cultural tourism attraction.

In Xinhua Village, Lixi Town, in the northern suburbs of Jingmen City, there stands a mountain with an elevation of 673 meters. It is the highest mountain in Jingmen, covering an area of 3 square kilometers. It lies 55 kilometers northeast of Luoji Town and 3 kilometers southwest of the Xi River. According to legend, the founding patriarch of Taoism once passed through here and accidentally stepped askew on the summit of this mountain. A temple was later built at the top, and people named it Pian Guan Temple based on this legend. The mountain thus shares the name of the temple and is called Pian Guan Temple Mountain. Today, the ancient temple at the summit has long been destroyed, but the remains of its walls, stone tablets, and stone steps still exist.

Pian Guan Temple Mountain is covered with pine trees, chestnut trees, bamboo, and shrubs. Local specialties from the mountain include wild grapes, peaches, and apricots. Especially abundant is wild Ba Wang grass, which is high-quality raw material for papermaking. There are also various valuable medicinal herbs such as Bupleurum, Polygonatum, Asparagus cochinchinensis, Ophiopogon japonicus, and Polygonum multiflorum. The mountain also holds rich deposits of copper and iron ore. There is an abundance of high-quality limestone, so there is a lime kiln at the foot of the mountain with an annual production capacity of ten thousand tons. Its products are popular in the city and nearby areas such as Shashi and Xiangfan.
