Cui Zhuang Site

The Cui Zhuang Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhengzhou City.

The Cui Zhuang Site is located on the sandy hills of southeastern Zhengzhou, with the vast Huang-Huai Plain to the southeast. The terrain of the site area is relatively flat, slightly higher in the southwest than in the northeast, with a gentle slope from the southwest to the northeast. To the east of the site lies the Chao River, the South Ring Expressway runs south of the site, the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway is to the northeast, and the village of Cui Zhuang is to the west. On the eastern cliff of the site, ash pits have been found. The fill soil of these ash pits is grayish-brown, loose in texture, and contains artifacts such as pottery shards and animal bones. A large number of pottery shards have also been collected from the surface. The collected pottery includes both sandy pottery and clay pottery, with colors ranging from red to gray, and decorative patterns including cord marks and plain surfaces. Artifacts found include pottery li tripods, basins, and jars.

Nancao Township: A township under the jurisdiction of Guancheng Hui District, Zhengzhou City. Established in 1955, it was restructured as a commune in 1958 and reverted to a township in 1983. Located southeast of the city center, it is 10 kilometers from downtown Zhengzhou. Covering an area of 96 square kilometers with a population of 45,000, it is traversed by the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, National Highway 107, Zhengxin Highway, Zhengwei Highway, and Zhengbian Highway.
