The Heming Gorge Scenic Area in Yichuan County is a naturally formed canyon nestled deep within the Jiugao Mountain range. Stretching approximately 3 kilometers in depth, the canyon features steep cliffs, waterfalls, and springs on both sides.

Scenic Features

Named after the verse from the Book of Songs, “A crane cries in the deep valley, its sound heard in the heavens,” the canyon extends about 3 kilometers in depth and is surrounded by steep cliffs and natural waterfalls. Due to its location in the heart of Jiugao Mountain, winter temperatures here typically remain around -10°C. The waterfalls and streams form spectacular icefalls and icicles that are entirely natural, creating a grand and unique sight. The Heming Gorge Scenic Area is located 2 kilometers east of Nanzhuang Village, Jiushui Town, Yichuan County. It boasts a combination of danger, wonder, seclusion, and beauty, making it highly valuable for tourism development.
