Jinshuihe Reservoir

The Jinshuihe Reservoir scenic area is located in Zhifang Village, Hongshan Township, Xigong District. It lies to the east of the Jinshui River and to the west of the Southwest Ring Expressway, about 5 kilometers from the city center, offering convenient transportation, abundant water resources, and a pleasant climate. The reservoir was initially constructed in June 1957 and completed in May 1958. It has a drainage area of 1.5 million square meters, a designed storage capacity of 8.1 million cubic meters, an irrigation area of over 8,000 mu, and a flood control standard for a once-in-a-century event. Currently, the second phase of the Yellow River to Luoyang Water Diversion Project is under construction. Once the dam is completed, the storage capacity will reach 8 million cubic meters. The area is planned to be developed into a leisure and entertainment zone with comprehensive commercial, tourism, entertainment, real estate, and related supporting industries, aiming to become a suburban leisure and tourism resort complex in Luoyang.
