Longyu Bay was once known as the place where dragons bathed in ancient times. The highest peak in the Central Plains—Chicken Horn Peak, standing at 2,219 meters above sea level, features sheer cliffs shrouded in clouds and mist. The flower bells, shaped like fists and resembling bells, display seven colors and exude a captivating fragrance. The highest peak in the Funiu Mountains within the area is Changxiao Peak (commonly known as Chicken Horn Peak), with an elevation of 2,212.5 meters. Shaped like a chicken horn and soaring dramatically with sheer cliffs, it is incredibly steep and uniquely rugged. Contemporary writer Li Zhun praised it as “more graceful than the Five Great Mountains, and more spectacular than the Three Sacred Mountains.” The Hongluo River within the forest park flows swiftly, cutting through rocks and valleys, often plunging in spectacular waterfalls like celestial Milky Ways. The park features deep valleys, steep cliffs, and numerous niches carved into the rock faces. There are caves within caves, with clear springs murmuring, adding to the charm. Transportation

By car, you can reach the Guozhai Toll Station on the Lianyungang–Khorgas Expressway, Zhengzhou–Xiaolangdi–Luoyang Expressway, or the Er’guang Expressway. From there, drive 110 kilometers southwest along the Luoyang–Luanchuan Expressway to Miaozizhen, Luanchuan County, then turn south onto National Highway 311 to reach the scenic area. Clear traffic signs are placed along the expressways near Luoyang, the Luoyang–Luanchuan Expressway, and the fork roads leading to the scenic area.
