Jiguan Cave Site
The Jiguan Cave Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Luoyang City.
【Jiguan Cave】 is located in the mountains 5 kilometers west of Luanchuan County. The cave stretches 1.5 kilometers and is divided into front and rear halls. The front hall covers an area of about 30 square meters, with a height of nearly 7 meters. The ground is covered with a forest of stone stalagmites, while the ceiling is hung with inverted stalactites. About 1 kilometer down the stone steps from the back of the front hall, you’ll reach a spacious hall-like chamber—the rear hall. In the center of this hall stands a massive white rock, resembling a plump, large Buddhist monk wearing a kasaya. Various sizes of stalactites display their unique forms. The hall is over 30 meters high, and the cave ceiling and walls are covered with conical stone pillars.
