Luanchuan Tangchi Hot Springs
【Tangchi Hot Springs】 is located at the foot of Jiulong Mountain in Tangying Village, Tantou Township, Luanchuan County. The spring water gushes from the mountain, and its heat resembles that of boiling soup, hence the name "Tangchi" (literally "Soup Pool"). The water temperature remains between 65°C and 70°C year-round, ranking it as the hottest among all hot springs in Henan Province. The water contains various chemical substances such as sulfur, potassium, calcium, sodium, and sulfate ions, and is highly effective in treating rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, skin diseases, post-traumatic sequelae, and numbness in the limbs. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Tangquan Sanatorium was established here, with four additional bathhouses and over 40 wards added later. It receives around 150,000 visitors for medical treatment and bathing each year.
