Hongshanzhai is located in Yangang Village, southeast of Shuangliushu Town, Huangchuan County, Xinyang City, Henan Province. It is 36 kilometers from the county seat and 6 kilometers from National Highway 106. It is a comprehensive tourist area integrating sightseeing, tourism, leisure, and vacation. Belonging to the Dabie Mountain range, Hongshanzhai stands at an elevation of 286.8 meters, rising prominently among verdant peaks such as Bao Ling and Laoshu Zui. The site preserves historical remnants including ancient fortress walls, a horse racing field, a horse watering pit, mounting stones, and the east and west fortress gates, as well as ancient sites such as Lao Mao Cave, Immortal Cave, and Fishing Terrace. The mountain is lush with pines and cypresses, complemented by thriving bamboo forests, while the reservoir at the foot of the mountain boasts clear waters where sandpipers gather. With its picturesque scenery of pristine mountains and beautiful waters, Hongshanzhai offers enchanting views.
