Huangchuan County has a long history and has long been the site of prefectures, counties, and administrative offices. Xiao Nanhai is a religious site in Huangchuan County where five major faiths—Buddhism, Islam, Catholicism, Christianity, and Taoism—coexist. The existing mosque, Nanhai Chan Temple, and the iron flagpole of the Qing Dynasty Chamber of Commerce have been listed as key cultural relics under provincial protection in Henan.

Currently, it enjoys flourishing incense offerings. Devotees, worshippers, and tourists from within about 100 kilometers flock here for pilgrimages, incense burning, worship, and sightseeing. Located by the South Sea in the front and the city moat at the back, the environment is tranquil. Built on a 3.5-hectare site—1.5 hectares of which is water—the Xiao Nanhai Religious Park is an ideal destination for pilgrimage, sightseeing, and leisure.
