Wu Guang Pagoda

Wu Guang Pagoda is a cultural tourism attraction.

Xiaowu Pagoda, also known as Wu Guang Pagoda, is located in Xiaowu Village, Xunmukou Town, west of Taikang County, Henan Province. It was built to commemorate Wu Guang, the great leader of the peasant uprising. The pagoda stands 14.8 meters tall and is a solid hexagonal brick structure with six levels, constructed during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. The first and second levels feature waisted eaves, while the rest are designed in imitation of wooden architecture with bracket arms protruding from the eaves. The fourth and fifth levels contain niches, each housing a porcelain Buddha, totaling 12 in all. The top is crowned with a vase-shaped finial. The pagoda exhibits rather unique architectural craftsmanship, employing local folk techniques that are quite rare among pagoda structures.
