Xuan Village Ruins

Xuan Village Ruins are a cultural relic protection unit of Taikang County.

Xuan Village Ruins are located at longitude 114°48′46.0″ east, latitude 34°10′43.3″ north, at an elevation of 47.9 meters. They lie to the west of Xuan Village Primary School in Xixuan Village, Wangji Township, northwest of Taikang County, on slightly elevated terrain, covering an area of 3,200 square meters. In 1989, the People's Government of Taikang County designated them as a county-level cultural relic protection unit.

The Xuan Village Ruins contain remains from the Longshan Culture and Shang Dynasty cultures, with cultural layers ranging from 1 to 3 meters thick. Excavated stone tools include stone axes, while pottery items consist of yan steamers, ding tripods, jars, bowls, cauldrons, and basins. The pottery is predominantly gray clay, followed by gray sand-tempered clay and red clay. Decorative patterns include checkered, basket, and cord impressions.

Current condition: The northwest end of the ruins has been severely damaged due to soil extraction, but the rest remains well-preserved.

Protected area: The core protected zone is defined by the underground cylindrical white lime marker (1.5 meters deep) on the site, extending 40 meters east and west, 22 meters south, and 30 meters north. The general protected zone extends 20 meters outward from the boundary of the core protected zone.
