Tai Kang Bawangtai Site

The Tai Kang Bawangtai Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Tai Kang County.

The Bawangtai Site is located at 114°50′23.8″ east longitude, 34°06′04.7″ north latitude, at an elevation of 27.2 meters, within Bawangtai Village, 3 kilometers northwest of Tai Kang County. The site is higher in the north and lower in the south, covering an area of 23,000 square meters. In 1989, it was designated as a county-level cultural heritage protection unit by the Tai Kang County People's Government.

The cultural layer of the Bawangtai Site is 0.5–2 meters thick. Artifacts discovered include dou (food vessels), weng (jars), li (tripod cauldrons), fu (kettles), guan (pots), xiaokou zun (small-mouthed zun vessels), and pottery spinning wheels. The pottery is mainly made of red clay and gray clay, with coarse and fine rope patterns. It is classified as a Shang Dynasty cultural site.

Current status: well preserved.

Protected area: The core protected zone is defined with the site marker as the coordinate point, extending 40 meters east, 120 meters west, 150 meters south, and 15 meters north. The general protected zone extends 20 meters outward from the boundary of the core protected zone.
