Zhuangzi’s Mausoleum

Zhuangzi’s Mausoleum is a cultural relic protection unit of Henan Province.

Zhuang Zhou’s tomb is located about 25 kilometers northeast of Minquan County, east of Tangzhuang Village in Laoyanji Township. The site features one stone stele, approximately 2 meters high and 0.75 meters wide. The top of the stele is in the shape of a gui, resting on a rectangular base. The central part of the stele bears four large characters in regular script: “Tomb of Zhuang Zhou.” The original burial mound was leveled, but a new conical tomb mound has recently been reconstructed, standing about 1.8 meters high with a circumference of around 5 meters.

The stele forest within the mausoleum park contains 108 stone tablets, erected by leaders at various levels, domestic and international scholars, as well as members of the Zhuang clan from home and abroad to honor Zhuangzi.

Zhuangzi was a Daoist philosopher, revered alongside Laozi as one of the founders of Daoism.
