Close the street and play big in Dadaocheng！Fun cultural creativity takes over Dihua Street

On July 22 from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM, “CityPlay: Nostalgic Dadaocheng” will take place at Yongle Plaza and along the entire Section 1 of Dihua Street (Nanjing West Road – Minquan West Road), turning the whole city into your playground and inviting the public to join in the fun.

The event includes fun, browse-worthy, and creative activities such as the “Yongle Street Temple Square Concert,” “Shop Challenge: Collect Stamps for Prizes,” “Good News Corner,” and the “Eden Social Welfare Foundation’s Dream Dadaocheng Charity Art Exhibition,” using interactive, educational methods to explore the area’s industrial and cultural features.

As long as participants complete six challenges at 22 participating shops, they can exchange for gifts and have a chance to win one of 2,000 NT$500 vouchers. Additionally, 4,000 copies of “Good News Corner” will be available for visitors at the Dadaocheng Visitor Center, featuring discounts from 66 local shops (July 22–August 19).
 
There will also be continuous stage performances at Yongle Plaza, including nostalgic oldies, folk arts, and performance art mini-theaters. Many street performers and bunraku cosplay acts will appear along the route, and there will be accessible toilets, public restrooms, and four medical aid stations to ensure that everyone can enjoy the festivities with ease and peace of mind.

Traffic control will be in effect from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on the day of the event. The activity area includes Yongle Plaza and the full closure of Section 1 of Dihua Street (from Nanjing West Road to Minquan West Road), which will be designated as a pedestrian-only zone. The Taipei City Datong District Office also encourages citizens to use public transportation to avoid road congestion or parking difficulties that might affect their enjoyment.
