Longze Lake

Longze Lake is located 28 kilometers east of Minquan County. Originally known as the Wu Tun Reservoir on the Old Course of the Yellow River, it is the largest natural lake on the eastern plain of Henan Province. Stretching about 12.5 kilometers from west (starting at the Lin Qi Dam) to east (ending at the Wu Tun Dam) and about 1 kilometer wide, the lake has an average depth of 1.8 meters, covers a water surface area of 18,000 mu, and has an average annual water storage capacity of 28 million cubic meters. The nearly 20,000-mu expanse of water, wetlands, and the seasonal presence of water ducks, grey cranes, and white swans create a breathtaking scenery where water meets sky. In recent years, Wangzhuangzhai Town, where Longze Lake is situated, has made full use of this vast water area to vigorously develop aquaculture and tourism. Currently, the annual output of aquatic products such as fish, shrimp, and river crabs exceeds 100 tons. The Old Course cultural tourism has taken initial shape, featuring amenities such as a water sightseeing dock, lakeside restaurants, fishing spots, and a rose garden.
