Anyang Museum is a patriotic education base.

Anyang Museum is a comprehensive local history museum, established in May 1958, located at No. 436, East Section of Wenming Avenue, Anyang City. It is currently a patriotic education demonstration base at both the Henan Provincial and Anyang Municipal levels, an outstanding patriotic education base within the provincial cultural and museum system, as well as a civilized unit and advanced social science institution in Anyang.

Anyang Museum has a construction area of over 20,000 square meters, with an exhibition area of more than 5,000 square meters and a storage area of over 2,600 square meters. It houses eight cultural relics storage rooms and seven exhibition halls, featuring four permanent displays including “Social Life in the Shang Dynasty.” In recent years, it has organized dozens of special exhibitions such as “Exhibition of Collected Paintings and Calligraphy Artworks,” “Anyang Folk Collections Exhibition,” and “Artwork Exhibition by Students of Anyang Special Education School.” Among them, the “World on Blocks – Exhibition of Collected Wooden Prints from the Anyang Region” won the Henan Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau’s 2012 Award for Outstanding Exhibition.

Anyang Museum currently holds a collection of over 10,000 cultural relics, covering more than ten categories including oracle bones, jade artifacts, metal objects, ceramics, currency, paintings and calligraphy, as well as modern and contemporary relics, spanning from the Paleolithic Age to the modern era.

Anyang Museum has compiled and published five works, including “Collected Essays on the Archaeology of Historical Relics in Anyang” and “Illustrated Catalogue of Selected Cultural Relics in Anyang Museum.” Among them, “Woodblock Prints of New Year Pictures in the Anyang Region” won the second prize for outstanding social science works in Anyang and the special prize for outstanding popular social science works in Henan Province. Several other Anyang municipal social science projects have also been awarded.

Since the opening of its new building in 2008, Anyang Museum has offered free admission. It is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM from Tuesday to Sunday, providing two free guided tours per day. Paid services are available during other hours. The museum is equipped with audio guide devices, and group visits can be reserved.
