CALL FOR CLIMBERS
On August 4, 2012, the first phase of the SALEWA ROCKSHOW CHINA 2012 event was successfully held at the climbing venue in Beijing's Jinyuan Yansha Mall.
The SALEWA ROCKSHOW climbing series originated in Europe, aiming to promote communication and sharing through a series of climbing activities, helping more people understand, get to know, and fall in love with climbing, and to drive the development and popularization of climbing. This series of events spans 10 countries including Germany, Italy, and Russia, and is a classic summer event for SALEWA CHINA. Through a range of activities such as ROCKSHOW, Greenland expeditions, the Kashmir Rose Journey, and Journeys on the Eagle’s Back, SALEWA CHINA hopes to bring people into the emotional world of SALEWA.
The 2012 ROCKSHOW is the second edition in China, organized by Lvye Outdoor Network and Jinyuan Yansha Mall. Speeches were briefly given at the opening ceremony by Li Yun, General Manager of SALEWA CHINA, Fu Yuehong, General Manager of Jinyuan Yansha Mall, Zhou Wenfeng, General Manager of Lvye Outdoor, Zhang Hongquan, Deputy Captain of the Mountain Rescue Team, and Zhou Naiyuan, current President of Peking University's Mountain Eagle Club.
The climbing competition was divided into on-site enthusiast experiences, beginner groups, and men’s and women’s intermediate and advanced groups, with over 70 players and enthusiasts participating. The top three performers in each group received world-class outdoor gear provided by SALEWA (Salewa). The male and female champions will also have the opportunity to be invited to participate in the field rock climbing activity of SALEWA ROCKSHOW in mid-September at the Tianchi Gorge scenic area in Huairou, Beijing.
