If you want to wander alone amidst the phytoncide-rich air and admire the uniquely beautiful scenery of Alishan, then you can't miss the 2016 Alishan Marathon. To promote the Alishan Scenic Area, the marathon starts from the Wunfeng Visitor Center and follows the Ruisui Highway, passing through tea plantations, waterfalls, and a century-old train station, allowing you to experience the purest natural beauty.

The 2016 Alishan Marathon will take place on October 2, with registration starting on May 17. It features three categories: the Dance with Mountains and Waters 6KM, the Forest Quest 22K, and the Waterfall Relief 42K. Participants will run through the mountains alongside the Alishan Forest Railway. In addition to a finisher’s certificate, the organizers have specially created indigenous-style commemorative medals to present to every runner.
