In the golden autumn of 2011, Zhou Wenfeng gained many unexpected surprises on the “Retracing the Stilwell Road.” “We met and interviewed almost all the key figures who have been researching this history over the years, and just happened to encounter the ‘Homecoming of the Loyal Souls’ – a large-scale 70th anniversary commemoration event for the Chinese Expeditionary Force in Tengchong. In addition to taking a lot of photos and videos, we also bought back quite a few books, hoping to collect and commemorate this chapter of national history that blossomed amidst hardship.” Retracing the Stilwell Road brought Zhou Wenfeng not only a revisit of history but more importantly, an experience of humanistic care, letting emotions validate the support for the Chinese Expeditionary Force and the returning veterans.
