Xiyutuan Village is located at the foot of the Shengjing Mountain Scenic Area, a provincial-level scenic spot, and falls under the jurisdiction of Gejia Town. The village has 2,500 mu of arable land and 1,000 mu of orchards. With a beautiful environment, the village features seven main streets—three running north-south and four east-west—planted with over 20,000 thuja, blue cypress, and other saplings, achieving a village greening rate of 60%.

Relying on the Shengjing Mountain Scenic Area and leveraging its picturesque rural landscape and abundant fruit resources, Xiyu Village has vigorously developed sightseeing and agritourism. The village’s Party branch and village committee established a tourism development leadership group, headed by the Party branch secretary and composed of Party branch members and group leaders, responsible for managing the village’s tourism initiatives. They have built strong cooperative relationships with various tourism organizations across the province, promoting healthy tourism development. First, using festivals as a platform to boost agriculture through tourism, the village actively responds to higher-level directives by developing sightseeing and fruit-picking agriculture. Based on seasonal variations, different sightseeing themes are highlighted. In spring, flower appreciation festivals and fruit-picking festivals are held to promote eco-agritourism in the countryside. Flower festivals mainly include peach blossom, pear blossom, and apricot blossom festivals, while fruit-picking festivals feature cherry, red apricot, golden pear, and flat peach seasons. These events attract visitors from Yantai, Weihai, Rongcheng, and Wendeng for sightseeing, spring outings, and fruit picking, with an annual flow of over 200,000 tourists. The cherry-picking festival, in particular, has evolved into a well-established rural agritourism project, with the village successfully co-hosting two editions of the Kunyu Mountain Cherry Festival. Second, by organizing flower and fruit-picking festivals, the village has spurred the growth of farmhouse dining. There are currently 15 farmhouse restaurants in the village, attracting nearly 10,000 tourists annually for farmhouse meals, featuring specialties such as sweet potatoes, corn, various mountain vegetables, and insects. Xiyu Village fully taps into the potential of local products, developing a complete agritourism product chain. Locals sew cloth tigers, gather wild herbs, cultivate meaningful root carvings, and sell copies of the Dao De Jing during agricultural downtime, creating a comprehensive industry chain that increases average household income by over 4,000 yuan. Three large and medium-sized reservoirs are used for fishing activities, integrating mountain hiking, flower viewing, fruit picking, and fishing into a cohesive tourism chain. About 40% of the village households are engaged in tourism or related industries, making it a renowned agritourism and leisure destination in the province.
