The National Mass Mountain Climbing and Fitness Conference (Wendeng Station) and the 8th China・Weihai (Wendeng) Kunyu Mountain Cherry Festival will open on May 27 in Jieshi Town, Wendeng City. This was announced at a press conference held yesterday.
According to the organizers, this edition of the National Mass Mountain Climbing and Fitness Conference (Wendeng Station) is hosted by the Mountaineering Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China. With the theme "Experience the Fairyland of Kunyu, Climb the Sacred Mountain of Longevity; Walk the Ancient Jade Emperor Trail, Enjoy Boundless Joy," the event makes full use of Kunyu Mountain’s outstanding natural resources and capitalizes on its well-developed mountain trails to organically combine hiking, fitness, tourism promotion, and low-carbon environmentalism. As a sub-venue of the National Mass Mountain Climbing and Fitness Conference, Kunyu Mountain will significantly boost its tourism visibility and influence. This year’s Cherry Festival, themed "Kunyu Mountain – Land of Longevity, Where Lush Mountains, Clear Waters, and Red Cherries Abound," allows visitors not only to pick and taste fresh, sweet cherries but also to enjoy traditional farm-style meals unique to the area and experience the natural beauty and local culture of Kunyu Mountain.
