Wuran Temple is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a cultural heritage site.

Wuran Temple was built during the Yongkang era of Emperor Huan of the Eastern Han Dynasty. The temple complex was once grand in scale and was known as the foremost ancient temple in eastern Shandong. Today, only ruins remain. Major attractions include the King of Magnolia in Northern China, the Heavenly Queen’s Foot-Washing Basin, Jade Pool, Fairy Pool, and eighteen other pools. The entire Taigu River valley features deep gorges and serene landscapes, dotted with numerous beautiful and enchanting rocky beds and stream valleys. The streambeds are covered with continuous, smooth rocks as pristine as jade, through which clear streams flow, glistening under the sunlight. Due to varying mountain slopes, the area boasts a variety of clear pools and waterfalls in diverse forms. The scenery is especially spectacular in summer when the valley is flanked by emerald peaks and lush forests, with blooming flowers and birdsong, resembling a paradise on earth. It is often referred to as the “Jiuzhaigou of the North” and is an ideal destination for mineral spring bathing and summer retreats. Here, one can truly experience the charm of secluded paths leading to tranquil beauty.
