Ligu Village Scenic Area is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Ligu Village Scenic Area is located within Jietou Town, featuring serene forests and valleys, pleasant scenery, and exquisite landscapes that rival those of Mount Wulian and Mount Jiuxian.

Ligu Village was originally called Nigu Village (Nun’s Village). During the Ming Dynasty, nuns built huts and a hermitage here, giving it its name. Later, monks came to the mountain to build temples and worship Buddha, and the steady flow of incense made Nigu Village widely known. Subsequently, a Taoist priest surnamed Li came here to cultivate himself, and the place was renamed Ligu Village, which gradually evolved into its current name. During the Cultural Revolution...

Ligu Village was a model for the active study and application of Chairman Mao’s works. From 1967 to 1969, up to 680,000 people visited to study here, including more than 100 friends from Albania and New Zealand who came to observe. Liu Taizhen, one of the main leaders of Ligu Village, became a province-wide and even nationwide activist in studying Mao’s works, giving over 300 presentations on his experiences and attending both the Ninth National People's Congress and the Ninth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, gaining high recognition across the country. To this day, the unmanned shop and the former educated youth site have withstood decades of weathering, authentically preserving the essence of Ligu Village in those years. Scholars and public figures continue to visit and conduct research.

Moreover, the area boasts continuous mountain ranges, lush forests, and stunning scenery that captivate visitors, drawing large numbers of tourists eager to witness its charm. To better showcase this landscape, after the adjustment of township administrative divisions, Jietou Town invested significant human and material resources in comprehensive development. It now features over 15 major attractions, including Buddha Cave, Sheep Lock Palace, Santai Mountain, Hailuo Mountain, and Garden, all of which leave visitors enchanted and reluctant to leave.
