Five-Vegetable Garden
The Five-Vegetable Garden is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.
The Five-Vegetable Garden Scenic Area is located in Kouguan Town, Wulian County, at the eastern foot of Mount Wulian. The garden integrates agricultural activities, natural scenery, technological demonstration, wellness leisure, and environmental protection. The name "Five-Vegetable Garden" is derived from the "Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon" and the "Compendium of Materia Medica." The "Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon" states: “Grains are for nourishment, fruits are for assistance, livestock are for benefit, and vegetables are for replenishment.” The "Compendium of Materia Medica" further elaborates on the importance of vegetables: “Vegetables play a significant role in human nutrition,” and “the five vegetables serve to replenish and assist the energy of grains, as well as to clear blockages.” Drawing on the concept of the “five vegetables” from the "Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon," which emphasizes their health benefits in clearing bodily obstructions, and also alluding to the “five” in Mount Wulian, the area is thus named the Five-Vegetable Garden.
The park features three intelligent connected solar greenhouses, 200 arched greenhouses, 20 winter-warm greenhouses, and two 200-cubic-meter biogas pits. It is divided into a tropical plant viewing area, a facility agriculture exhibition area, a fruit and vegetable picking area, a science and technology education training area, and an organic wellness experience area. It is a great place to visit organic vegetable plantations and experience rural tourism.
