Wulong Lake Scenic Area is located about 10 kilometers southwest of Pingyi County and has been designated as a "Provincial Water Conservancy Scenic Area" by the provincial water resources department. Nestled against the picturesque Wulong Mountain and fronted by the vast, azure waters of Wulong Lake, the area is embraced by undulating hills, combining mountain and water views, sunny beaches, and delightful scenery. With superior natural conditions and convenient transportation, the area also boasts a wealth of captivating folk legends and numerous historical and cultural sites.

The forest and grass coverage in Wulong Lake Scenic Area reaches 48%, and the area enjoys abundant water resources, all originating from the lush, vegetated hills. Visitors can swim and fish here, adding a unique touch of enjoyment to their experience.

The scenic area also features a tree-shaded natural leisure and entertainment zone equipped with high-standard changing rooms, dance halls, rest areas, and shaded gardens. It’s a perfect spot to relax, enjoy the refreshing coolness, and sample local specialties from Wulong Mountain—such as Wulong tea and melons.

All aquatic products served at the area's restaurants and rural cottages come from the unpolluted waters of Wulong Lake. Visitors can not only savor fresh hairy crabs, fish, and shrimp, but also pick green produce such as pumpkins, green beans, and chili peppers, immersing themselves fully in the beauty of the lake and mountain scenery.

At the northernmost end of the scenic area, on Tangwang Ridge, remnants such as flagpole holes and the resting place of Emperor Taizong of Tang (Li Shimin) have been preserved. Later generations built the Tangwang Temple in his honor. With its red bricks and blue tiles, the temple blends harmoniously with the historic relics, creating a complementary and memorable sight.
