Anzi Temple

Anzi Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Anzi Temple is located in Qiantaogou Village, about 5 kilometers from the town center of Linjian. Originally a Temple of the Goddess of Mount Tai, it stands roughly 1,000 meters away from Qiantaogou Village, facing Yuanbao Rock to the south and Bailian Mountain to the north. It was first built during the Ming Dynasty and reconstructed in the ninth year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty through donations from local villagers. In 2013, it was renovated and transformed into a Buddhist temple, dedicated to guiding sentient beings here, helping them to hear the Dharma, revere the Three Jewels, achieve family harmony, foster good neighborly relations, and work toward common prosperity. The temple gets its name because the mountain where it stands has a saddle-like shape—only by letting go of the saddle and reins can one feel truly at ease. At the end of the year, a temple fair is held (from the first to the ninth day of the lunar new year), and during the Spring Festival, the temple sees a surge of incense offerings, with worshippers coming in droves to make wishes or give thanks. Word has spread that the temple is especially efficacious for those praying for children, which is why the local mountain was renamed from “Saddle Mountain” to “Peace Mountain.”
