Crouching Dragon Mountain in Mancheng

The Crouching Dragon Mountain Scenic Area is located in Longju Village, Liujiatai Township, in the northwest of Mancheng County at the eastern foot of the Taihang Mountains. It is 170 km from Beijing, 160 km from Tianjin, 157 km from Shijiazhuang, and 45 km from Baoding, making it easily accessible. The scenic area covers 1,700 acres, including a 500-acre fruit ecological park, 500 acres of afforestation, and 700 acres of pristine grasslands, canyons, and unique peaks.

The scenic area has a 1,500-square-meter parking lot, situated three li above Longju Village and 6.5 km from the Baoliu Road. To the east of the parking lot are two peaks, Big Tiger Tuotuo and Small Tiger Tuotuo. To the west lies the historic site of Queen’s Fortress, a strategic stronghold known as “one man can hold the pass against ten thousand.” To the north are remote mountain villages, featuring two long valleys: Anzi Gully, which contains unique rock formations such as Dripping Water Hall, Yellow Stone Hall, and Monkey Biting Peach; and Tan Chang Gully, stretching 10 li with interlacing valleys and overlapping peaks. Adjacent to the parking lot is also an 1,100-square-meter water surface with three ponds, providing visitors with opportunities for swimming and fishing.

July to October is the harvest season in the Crouching Dragon Mountain Ecological Park, offering a wide variety of grapes, apples, peaches, apricots, vegetables, and grains. During this time, you can bring your family and friends to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, return to nature, and truly experience the endless joy of “urban office workers becoming farmers on holiday.”
