Shandong Silicon Valley New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. was restructured from the Shandong Provincial Institute of Silicate Research and Design, established in 1958, on May 9, 2001. On January 3, 2008, the 50-year-old institute founded Shandong Silicon Yuan New Materials Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as Silicon Yuan New Materials), which is mainly engaged in the research, development, and production of daily-use ceramics and industrial ceramics. It is a national high-tech enterprise. The company has achieved over 200 major scientific and technological accomplishments, including 5 national invention awards and 2 national science and technology progress awards.

Silicon Yuan New Materials focuses on high-tech ceramics, premium daily-use ceramics, and other fields, providing high-quality products and services to industries such as machinery, chemicals, electronics, papermaking, and high-end hospitality. The national-use high-quartz porcelain has won the Third Prize of National Invention Award and the Gold Medal at the 15th International Invention Expo. The “Chinese Dragon” state banquet porcelain integrates technology, culture, and art, possessing significant collectible value. The artificially synthesized bone china received the Second Prize of National Technology Invention Award, the highest honor in the industry, and this achievement has been widely promoted across the country. Silicon Valley Ceramics has supplied porcelain to the highest levels of the Party, government, and military since entering Zhongnanhai in 1984, earning the reputation of “Contemporary National Porcelain.” Its uniquely created “All-Ceramic Knife” filled the gap in China’s full-ceramic cutlery market. Precious artistic glazes such as Fish Egg Blue Glaze and Starlight Diamond Glaze are world-first innovations. The newly developed 99% alumina submicron ceramic wear-resistant components for high-speed papermaking machines meet or exceed the advanced technical standards of similar foreign products. The products are sold nationwide, with some exported to the United States, Australia, Italy, Southeast Asia, and other countries. The company has now become the largest domestic production base for wear-resistant ceramic components for papermaking machinery.

On June 27, 2009, the member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council visited Silicon Valley Technology and spoke highly of its technological innovation achievements. Silicon Valley Technology has been rated among Zibo’s Top 100 Enterprises for several consecutive years. It has also been listed as a technical support unit for the National New Materials Industrialization Base, a key research and development unit for ceramic new materials in Shandong Province, and was recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China as the “National Engineering Research Center for Industrial Ceramics,” with an in-house postdoctoral workstation. On May 25, 2010, Silicon Valley Technology was designated as a “Shandong Provincial Industrial Design Center” by the Shandong Provincial Economic and Information Commission, the only ceramic enterprise in the province to receive this honor.
