The day starts with a good breakfast—if you eat well in the morning, you’ll feel great all day. Pingzi wants to share with you Positive Light Food Cafe near Taipei’s Songjiang Nanjing MRT Station. Not only can you get a tasty breakfast for under NT$100 here, but the meals are delicious, the coffee is smooth and affordable, and it's highly recommended for friends who love affordable brunches, want to save money, and enjoy coffee. There aren’t many such great spots in Taipei.

To find Positive Light Food Cafe, exit from Exit 7 of Songjiang Nanjing MRT Station, walk toward Nanjing East Road. When you see the Union Bank, head in the opposite direction down the alley, and the first lane you come to is Jianguo North Road Lane 2—you’ll see Positive Light Food Cafe there.

Positive Light Food Cafe has only been open for six months but is already doing very brisk business. The whole shop features an American-style design aesthetic, with a large logo that shows a fork inside a circle—the design is simple and instantly recognizable.

The cafe is divided into front and back sections. Though small, it has a lot of character—truly a case of “small but perfectly formed.” It includes both an outdoor seating area and an indoor air-conditioned section. The photo above shows the ordering counter, featuring a clean wooden design space with a small blackboard introducing the shop’s featured items. At the back of the store, there’s a baking classroom that offers classes and enrolls students in Western pastry and bread-making courses as well as Baking Level C certification. Interested individuals can sign up.

The outdoor area is provided for guests who wish to smoke and is located near the ordering counter.

The indoor area, as shown above, has space for 6–8 tables. Although not large, the entire space features a strong cement industrial style, giving off a great vibe and atmosphere. On this particular day, Pingzi came here during her morning commute to enjoy breakfast, read a book, and then head back to work.

The menu features brunch options, classic bagels and breads, along with cookies and various coffee combinations. For those who don’t drink coffee, canned drinks are available. The fridge displays a colorful array of bagel flavors, plus delicious cakes.

A lovely assortment of cute cookies are on display on the shelves—all can be taken home if you like them.

As soon as you walk in, you’ll see a large promotional poster for the cafe’s popular breakfast recommendations. The graphic illustrations make it easy to understand, clearly showing the composition of each dish. The design style is simple and straightforward—you can choose your favorite combinations, which range from pork, beef, bacon, to cheese options. Just looking at the meals is enticing.

All ordering is done at the counter, and staff will bring your food to your table. The menu is thoughtfully designed, simple and clear, with an attractive layout. It’s a long-format menu, with combo breakfasts on the left and bagel and beverage/coffee selections on the right. Also, if you spend over NT$200, they offer enthusiastic delivery service—a truly dedicated restaurant.

Just looking at the bagels—there are so many flavors, all baked in-house. Impressive, right? Fans of bagels should definitely come pay homage.

All the breakfast items here are neatly wrapped in special paper before being served, so you don’t have to worry about greasy hands. Pingzi likes this dining style. On this day, she had a ham omelette sandwich—the original combo was NT$65. The coffee that came with the meal was an Americano, but she used her meal voucher to exchange it for a caramel macchiato by paying the price difference, making the combo cost NT$130.

Such a tasty and affordable breakfast combo in Taipei—Pingzi highly recommends it.

Even before unwrapping, you can see the labeled sticker with the name “Ham Omelette Sandwich” on top.

Once you open the ham omelette sandwich wrapping, you’ll see how generous and sincere the portion is—plump and rich, with plenty of ham and a thick omelette sandwiched between layers of lettuce. The bread is warm and has a crispy, flaky crust on the outside while being soft and tender inside, creating lovely texture layers. Pingzi really loves this ham omelette sandwich, especially with the specially prepared sauce that pairs wonderfully with the ham—so tasty.

Coffee is also served in paper cups (for hot drinks) or plastic cups (for iced drinks), so you can take leftovers with you or just finish your drink on the spot—it’s very convenient. On this day, Pingzi had an iced caramel macchiato—the coffee was smooth, not bitter or overly sweet, with a rich milky flavor—highly recommended.

All the meals here are very affordable and cost under NT$100. For foodies who want to save money, Positive Light Food Cafe is definitely worth considering. Delicious and budget-friendly meals let you enjoy a satisfying meal without spending much.
