Zibo Xiaofu River Wetland Park

The Xiaofu River is the mother river of Zibo, stretching 108.6 kilometers within the city. In June 2015, the municipal Party committee and government decided to implement comprehensive management of the entire Xiaofu River basin. The Xiaofu River Wetland is the core project of this management initiative, covering a treatment length of 7.3 kilometers and a total construction area of 7,000 mu. Of this, the water surface covers 3,000 mu, with water quality generally stable at Class III standards and a water storage capacity exceeding 5 million cubic meters. Through the implementation of the management project, comprehensive remediation across the entire basin has been driven. A total of more than 1,000 enterprises have been closed or treated, 239 sewage outfalls have been sealed, and 15 artificial wetlands and 4 large wetland parks have been constructed.

Currently, the open area of the Xiaofu River Wetland Park has reached 1,000 mu, equivalent to the size of one Qisheng Lake Park. By the end of this year, an additional 1,000 mu in Area A of the Xiaofu River Wetland Park on the western side will be opened, bringing the total to over Honglian Lake Park. By May Day next year, the remaining 5,000 mu from the south side of the railway to the south side of Changguo Road will be fully opened. At that time, the Xiaofu River Wetland Park will become a new landmark for leisure, tourism, entertainment, and fitness in the city, achieving the goal of healing a river and revitalizing an entire city.
