Dahenan Han Tombs

The Dahenan Han Tombs are a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shandong Province.

The Dahenan Han Tombs are located in Dahenan Village, Weigu Town, High-Tech Zone, Zibo City. They date back to the Han Dynasty. On December 7, 2006, the Dahenan Han Tombs were designated as part of the third batch of Provincial-Level Cultural Heritage Protection Units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

Year of establishment: Ming Dynasty

Origin and evolution of the village name: During the Yongle era of the Ming Dynasty, Xing Wen, the grandson of Xing Cai from the military settlement village, relocated here and founded the village. As it was situated on the southern bank of the Sha River, it was named Henan Village (South of the River). In the mid-Ming Dynasty, a branch of the Xing family from Henan Village moved to the northern bank of the Sha River and established a new village, which was called Xiaohenan (Little South of the River). Later, villagers found the character “Xiao” (little) inappropriate and renamed it Beihenan (North of the River) based on its location.
