On June 23, 2015, the Former Site of the Anti-Japanese Base in the Bohai Plain was designated as part of the fifth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People’s Government of Shandong Province.

Yong’an Town: Yong’an Town is a veteran revolutionary base area. It is situated in the eastern part of Kenli County, bordering the Bohai Sea to the east. The town administers 53 administrative villages, with 6,386 households and a population of 20,695, including 19,335 agricultural residents. Covering an area of 446 square kilometers, it is a piece of ancient yet vibrant land nurtured by our mother river — the Yellow River. Yong’an Town is the central town of Kenli County, Shandong, one of the two wings of the county’s integrated urban development plan, and also the main mining area of the Shengli Oilfield.
