Wei Zhuang Mound Site

The Wei Zhuang Mound Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Wei Zhuang Mound Site is located in Wangmiao Town, Pingyuan County, dating back to the Shang and Zhou dynasties.

On June 23, 2015, the Wei Zhuang Mound Site was designated as part of the fifth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

Wangmiao Town: Located in the southernmost part of Pingyuan County, Wangmiao Town borders Yucheng and Gaotang to the east and south. It governs 94 administrative villages, has a population of 35,000, and covers a total area of 117 square kilometers. The town has a long history and is known for its talented people. It is the birthplace of the Boxer Rebellion at the end of the Qing Dynasty. The Honggou River and Zhao Wang River originate here, offering excellent agricultural production conditions, yielding 40,000 tons of grain and 3,000 tons of cotton annually. In line with the goal of building beautiful rural and well-off villages, the town has vigorously developed forestry.
