Jia Chuan Stone Bridge

The Jia Chuan Stone Bridge is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Jia Chuan Stone Bridge is located in Longmen Subdistrict, Pingyuan County, and dates back to the Ming and Qing dynasties.

On June 23, 2015, the Jia Chuan Stone Bridge was designated as part of the fifth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

Longmen Subdistrict: Located within Pingyuan County, Longmen Subdistrict serves as the county seat and houses the county government. Its jurisdiction extends east to the Beijing–Shanghai Railway, west to the Majia River, south to Taoyuan Subdistrict, and north to Santang Township. Covering a total area of 37.8 square kilometers, it includes 1,657.9 hectares of arable land, administers 17 residential communities and 29 administrative villages, and has a population of 60,000. The subdistrict is named after the “Dragon Gate” historical site located within its boundaries.

History

In ancient times, the area now known as Pingyuan County was the site of the Shuangzhun tribe during the Xia Dynasty, part of the Qi state during the Western Zhou Dynasty, and later a lesser settlement on Qi’s western border following King Cheng of Zhou’s suppression of the Pugu rebellion.
