Dongfangshuo Park

Dongfangshuo Park is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Dongfang Park is bordered by Government Street to the east, Lingzhou Road to the south, Youth Street to the west, and Confucius Temple Road to the north, covering an area of 15 hectares. Themed around culture, the park is imbued with the charm of the Tang Dynasty while also embracing a modern atmosphere. Its overall layout follows a "one main, nine sections, three axes" design. The "one main" refers to the main building of the Cultural and Art Center located at the northern end of the park, with a construction area of 13,000 square meters. The "nine sections" refer to eight functional zones (small squares)—including the Chinese Knot Square covering 9,600 square meters in front of the main hall of the Cultural and Art Center, as well as the Martial Arts Square, Dance Square, Opera Square, and others at its sides and southern end—designed to accommodate visitors of different ages and interests for touring, entertainment, leisure, and exercise. These zones are independent yet interconnected, forming a unified whole. The "three axes" are three distinctive sightseeing routes, one main and two secondary. Among them, the north-south Historical and Cultural Axis serves as the main vehicle for showcasing and interpreting the rich cultural heritage of Ling County.

The entire park uses tangible symbols such as corridors, inscribed stones, and arches, along with modern technological means like sound, light, and electricity. It also features vast lawns and lush trees and plants, recreating history, grounding itself in the present, and looking toward the future. It is an ideal place for tourists and residents to engage in leisure activities and historical-cultural education, embodying local historical and cultural characteristics as well as the spirit of the times and a harmonious, joyful atmosphere. Known as the "No. 1 Reception Hall of Ling County," it has been awarded titles such as "Patriotic Education Base of the City," "National Women’s Fitness Demonstration Site," and "Shandong Province Science Education Base." In March 2011, it was rated as a national AA-level tourist attraction.

The entire Dongfang Park is divided into 13 scenic areas (spots): Jade Belt Dancing Over Blue Waves (landscape bridge), Joyful Elephant Welcoming the Rising Sun (landscape stone), Long Corridor Stretching Through Time (cultural corridor), Giant Stone Recalling Changes (history square), Blooming Flowers Telling Tales (leisure woodland), Joyful Stroll in the Garden (small garden), Sage of Wisdom Gazing at History (statue of Dongfangshuo), High-Rising Bracket Sets Praising Harmony (Chinese Knot Square), Diverse Arts Gathering at the Center (Cultural and Art Center), Graceful Dance Celebrating Prosperity (dance square), Pear Garden Blooming with Enthusiasts (opera square), Light-Footed Martial Arts (martial arts square), and Roller Skating Through Childhood Dreams (skating rink).
