Wuli Xihulu Base

The Wuli Xihulu Base is located within Lingcheng Town, approximately 2 kilometers south of Ling County’s county seat. The Wuli Community Agricultural Eco-Tourism Park is divided into three main sections: the Xihulu production and sales base, the ornamental fish farming base, and the “Bailiant” lotus root plantation.

The first section is the Xihulu production and sales base of the Wuli Community. The Wuli Community is a vegetable industry-connected community, situated in the core area of Ling County’s Ten-Thousand-Mu Modern Agricultural Industrial Park. The community has established a Vegetable Industry Party Branch and a land transfer platform, set up a vegetable cooperative, improved the wholesale market, and added an organic vegetable testing lab and constant-temperature storage, providing a full range of services for vegetable farmers. This base has successively won honors such as “National Ten-Thousand-Mu Solar Greenhouse Pollution-Free Vegetable Production Base” and “Green Food Xihulu Production Base.” The base currently has 8,500 solar greenhouse vegetable sheds, with an annual transaction volume exceeding 350 million jin.

The sightseeing demonstration shed area features scientific planning and rational layout, offers a full variety of crops inside the sheds, and boasts a beautiful surrounding environment and simple local customs. The travel routes are well-designed, rich in content, and supported by comprehensive tourism facilities. The management organization and reception system are sound, accommodating up to 300 visitors per day on average.

The second section is the ornamental fish farming base. This base covers a water area of nearly 100 mu. With an initial investment of over 3 million yuan, more than 10,000 Japanese koi ornamental fish were introduced from Guangzhou. This breed includes 13 major series and over 120 varieties. Currently, the cheapest koi on the market sells for over 20 yuan per kilogram, while those of general quality can fetch 50 to 200 yuan each, and higher-quality ones can go for tens of thousands of yuan. Koi are not only vibrant and highly ornamental. In addition, they carry the folk symbolism of “a fish leaping over the dragon gate,” representing great fortune, which is why, despite their high price, demand continues to grow, offering broad market prospects.

The third section is the “Bailiant” lotus root plantation. This is one of the community’s characteristic industrial development demonstration bases. Covering 110 mu, the plantation includes 32 large lotus ponds. The “Bailiant” lotus root produced here boasts many advantages, including good taste, comprehensive nutrition, high yield, easy management, and good storability.

In addition to dryland lotus root cultivation, the plantation has developed a range of side businesses. All 32 lotus ponds raise loach, the ornamental fish pond features a variety of colorful koi, and the fishing pond offers a full selection of freshwater fish such as carp, grass carp, and crucian carp. The 20-mu livestock farm raises over 2,000 free-range birds, including pheasants, pearl chickens, and bamboo chickens.
