Shen Tou Tomb Cluster

The Shen Tou Tomb Cluster is a cultural relic protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Shen Tou Han Tombs, commonly known as the "Seventy-Two Suspicious Tombs," are located on the north bank of the Dumu River in Shen Tou Town, Ling County, extending east-west along the Yaci Road axis over an area approximately five li long and three li wide. There are currently 38 tombs remaining, with the larger ones having diameters of 60 meters and heights of 9 meters, and the smaller ones measuring 14 meters in diameter and 5 meters in height. Originally, the mounds were covered with lush green trees, and in the early morning and evening, mist often curled around them like colorful silk ribbons, creating an air of mystery. The county annals praised the scene as “Mist-Crowned Tombs in Layers” and “Morning Mist at Shen Tou,” listing it among the “Eight Scenic Spots of Yaci.” Since ancient times, it has been a renowned scenic area. In 1977, it was designated as a provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit.
