The Dezhou Braised Chicken Museum is the first of its kind in Dezhou City and also the first braised chicken food-themed museum in China. As is well known, Dezhou braised chicken is a signature dish of Dezhou, and the museum serves as the cultural essence of this iconic dish—a historical snapshot of a century-old brand. With the theme of "Canal Culture, Culinary Dezhou," the exhibition hall follows three narrative threads—canal culture, railway culture, and commercial culture. Guided by an objective and rigorous historical perspective, and adhering to principles of fairness, impartiality, and factual accuracy, the museum has collected, excavated, organized, interviewed, and referenced a wealth of historical documents and cultural relics. It traces the origins of braised chicken, celebrates its cultural significance, and captures the spirit of this beloved cuisine. Through a rich array of artistic techniques—including life-sized character statues, large-scale painted murals, and modern imaging technology—the museum recreates the prosperity of the ancient canal, the bustling life of old Dezhou city, the iconic historical figures familiar to many, and the widely cherished stories of culinary heritage. It also showcases the closely guarded traditional techniques of making braised chicken and the long-standing food culture surrounding Dezhou braised chicken. From one perspective, it offers a concentrated display of the humanistic charm of historic Dezhou, culinary Dezhou, and cultural Dezhou. The museum is divided into three sections: History, Development, and Achievements.
