The Liangzi Black Pottery Museum is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

The Liangzi Black Pottery Museum is located at No. 1 Shuangyi Road, Xinhua Industrial Park, Decheng District, Dezhou City. This black pottery museum is the only one in Shandong Province built by an enterprise. With "Historical Footprints," "Rebirth from the Ashes," "Fusion of Past and Present," and "Looking to the Future" as its core themes, the museum fully presents the historical origins, revival journey, cultural essence, and artistic charm of the city’s black pottery culture. Its collection includes both historical artifacts and contemporary innovative masterpieces. Among them are 36 ancient pottery pieces, over 100 restored and replicated antique pottery items, and more than 300 innovative black pottery works. The ancient relics are mainly representative of the Dawenkou and Longshan cultures. The modern innovative products in the collection include nationally renowned pieces such as “Prosperous Age Auspicious Dragon,” “Fish Playing Among Lotus Leaves,” “Five Tiger Generals,” and “Micro-carved Eggshell Pottery.” Among these, the micro-carved pottery works use hard-engraving and micro-sculpting techniques to carve Chinese characters onto the pottery surface, with the minuscule and intricate details of the characters being truly breathtaking. The rich collection and innovative designs allow the Liangzi Black Pottery Museum to present itself to society and visitors in a brand-new light, showcasing the radiant brilliance of Qilu culture. The establishment of the Liangzi Black Pottery Museum also played a crucial role in Dezhou’s successful bid for the title of “China Black Pottery City” in 2009, leaving a deep impression on Chinese ceramic experts and earning high praise.

In the 1970s and 1980s, Dezhou took the lead nationwide in excavating and organizing black pottery, leading to a boom in the local black pottery industry during the 1980s. A large number of folk artists and researchers passionate about black pottery culture emerged, bringing the ancient black pottery culture — lost for four thousand years — back to life and back onto the historical stage. During this period, Dezhou black pottery gained nationwide popularity. In 1984, Dezhou black pottery was exhibited in Beijing and Shanghai, with major media outlets extensively covering the exhibitions. In 1987, Dezhou black pottery made outstanding contributions to the Soong Ching Ling Foundation and was awarded a certificate of honor signed by Deng Xiaoping.
