Dezhou Museum is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Dezhou Museum stands majestically in the scenic Culture and Sports Center. It features an artistic rendering of the Chinese character "德" (virtue) as its iconic decorative motif, integrating elements of Dezhou’s history and culture to highlight the city’s open-minded and inclusive spirit. Symbolizing the profound richness of Dezhou’s cultural heritage, it serves as a significant modern landmark of the city. The museum complex covers a total area of 72 mu, with a construction area of 21,000 square meters and a total investment of nearly 200 million yuan. It integrates functions such as cultural relic collection and exhibition, scientific research, and public education. The museum mainly consists of a lobby, five permanent exhibition halls, one temporary exhibition hall, one academic lecture hall, one 3D cinema hall, public rest areas, storage rooms for collections, technical rooms, and office spaces. It comprehensively showcases the general history of Dezhou’s development, the essence of its splendid culture, and its deep cultural roots. Here, you can touch the long-standing history and feel the continuum of legacy.

As a key hub for public cultural services in the city, Dezhou Museum conscientiously implements culturally beneficial policies such as free admission. It collaborates widely with all sectors of society to carry out educational activities such as lectures and exhibitions for children and teenagers. It also maintains close ties with civil affairs departments and nursing homes to organize various activities honoring the elderly. Actively engaging with museums and cultural institutions in other cities, the museum exchanges expertise and hosts a variety of temporary and touring exhibitions, thereby expanding its influence and reputation. As a member of the Chinese Museums Association, Dezhou Museum has successively been awarded titles such as “National Public Energy-Saving Demonstration Unit,” “Provincial-Level Social Science Popularization Demonstration Base,” “Shandong Provincial Practice Base for Primary and Secondary School Students,” “Municipal Patriotic Education Base,” and “Municipal Civilized Unit.” It has also partnered with universities to establish a “Professional Practical Teaching Base for Cultural Relic Collection and Appreciation” and a “Cultural Experience Base for International Students in Chinese Regional Culture,” and has worked with primary and secondary schools to build a “Juvenile Social Practice Base.” These efforts actively promote Dezhou’s history and traditional culture, making the museum a key “showcase” for introducing and publicizing Dezhou.

Dezhou Museum has become an important platform for promoting outstanding traditional culture and advancing the development of cultural tourism.
