Xinhua Mosque in Cangzhou is a cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province.

Xinhua Mosque is situated in the center of the Hui ethnic enclave on Jiefang Middle Road in downtown Cangzhou. It is a key cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province, and is as prestigious as Guangzhou's Huaisheng Mosque, Quanzhou Mosque, and Jining Mosque. The mosque was first constructed in the late Jianwen era of the Ming Dynasty, took 18 years to build, and was completed in 1420. The Xinhua Mosque has a total construction area of 3,200 square meters, including a prayer hall that spans 1,350 square meters.

The main structure is the prayer hall, which is accompanied by a women’s prayer hall, male and female washing rooms, a front hall, a scripture hall, and a moon-viewing tower. It is considered one of the major and renowned mosques in China, and is a key cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province. The prayer hall consists of three parts: the front porch, the middle hall, and the rear hall. The roof features a combination of flush gable and hip roof, hip-and-gable roof, and interconnected three-tiered pavilions. The wooden framework inside the hall is joined with mortise and tenon joints, forming a cohesive whole. At the top of the octagonal pavilion is an Islamic crescent and star emblem. The moon-viewing tower, front hall, and the lecture halls to the north and south complement the main prayer hall, further highlighting the solemn grandeur of the main prayer structure.
