Qingfeng Tower Square in Cangzhou

Qingfeng Tower Square is named after Qingfeng Tower. Constructed in 1995 and inspired by the ancient “Qingfeng Tower” of old Cangzhou, the tower functions as both a visual focal point and an elevated regional landscape feature, enhancing the city’s cultural character and standing as a landmark achievement in Cangzhou’s urban construction history. The square itself was built in August 2008, covering a total floor area of 14,000 square meters, including 8,500 square meters of green space. The square’s main features consist of a musical fountain, paved surfaces, and landscaped garden areas, together with Qingfeng Tower forming a beautiful riverside vista on the western side of the canal.

A visit to Qingfeng Tower Square is not complete without ascending Qingfeng Tower. Climbing this five-story classical-style building offers a unique perspective of Cangzhou’s urban landscape, revealing an unexpectedly distinct scene. A jade-like ribbon of water flows from south to north, and not far off, the shimmering blue waters of South Lake sparkle under the dappled shade of trees, rolling hills, and building reflections, blending together in a symphony of views. To the south of Qingfeng Tower lies Qingfeng Tower Square, enveloped in lush greenery that is surprisingly well-ordered despite its vibrancy. Viewed from above, the green areas are neatly arranged, with varying shades of light and dark green forming landscape zones of different sizes.
