Cangzhou People's Park

Cangzhou People's Park was officially opened on May 1, 1973. It is the oldest and largest comprehensive park in Cangzhou. In ancient times, Cangzhou’s terrain resembled a traditional men’s headwear called a futou, hence the park is also known as "Fuyuan." In December 2005, it was rated as a three-star park in Hebei Province; on June 3, 2008, it was opened to the public free of charge. The park covers a total area of 45 hectares, including 2 hectares of hilly land and 12.8 hectares of lake surface. To date, the park has a total green space of 28.9 hectares, with a green coverage rate of 84.7%, and more than 100 types of plants totaling 346,000 individual trees have been planted within the park.

The park is designed with a theme of returning to nature, featuring distinct functional zones and outstanding scenic highlights. It consists of six main areas: the Entrance Plaza Area, Fitness Activity Area, Mountain Seclusion Area, and ten key attractions such as "Panoramic Vista," "Waterfall and Flowing Clouds," "Assembly of Immortals," and "Lotus under Moonlight." The park combines the rugged grandeur of northern landscapes with the poetic charm of southern scenery, forming a distinctive comprehensive park.

In recent years, Cangzhou People's Park has adhered to the principle of "people-oriented, ecology-first," carrying out large-scale renovations and upgrades to enhance the park’s landscape and deliver high-quality results. The park has demolished old commercial shops outside the south gate, outdated amusement facilities, and structures in the west gate area, renovating a total of 48,000 square meters. New features such as a "Shaded Parking Lot" and a "Parent-Child Fitness Garden" have been built, along with fitness equipment installations, making it a key demonstration project for national fitness in Hebei Province. The park also actively promotes tree adoption programs, explores low-carbon greening practices, and builds an environmental model zone. In particular, it hosts a variety of colorful public flower exhibitions each year. Since 2008, successful events have included chrysanthemum shows, spring flower displays, tulip exhibitions, peony and paeonia shows, rose exhibitions, and lotus shows. Tailored cultural activities have been carefully planned for each flower show, receiving widespread praise from residents and significant attention from the media. These events not only enrich the cultural life of citizens but also showcase the unique culture of garden design, playing a positive role in promoting urban civilization. It is considered one of the most important landmark attractions in the hearts of Cangzhou residents.
